About the Author

Kris Ries is a writer and illustrator with a lifelong love of travel, nature, and storytelling. Though she has lived across the United States, she considers Beaver Island, Michigan, her home. Inspired by the monarch’s amazing transformation and migration, Kris created this book to help children see the magic happening in the natural world around them.
